BITAA  GOALS:             

CREATE AND AWARD STUDENT BIT SCHOLARSHIPS:
BITAA has established a Student Scholarship Fund and since 2004 there has been over $2750 in awards and scholarships made available.  10% of all membership fees are set aside for the scholarship fund. See PCC Foundation for current BITAA scholarship offered.

BE AN ACTIVE FORCE IN THE BUILDING INSPECTION PROFESSION:
BITAA has alumni members in numerous Code Organizations such as,  International Code Council,  Oregon Building Officials Association,  Washington Association of Building Officials,  Southwest Washington Chapter of ICC,  The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials, and also on Portland Community College's BIT Advisory Committee. 

PROVIDE GUIDANCE AND SUPPORT FOR STUDENT MEMBERS:
 Students seeking jobs in our BIT profession as building inspectors, plans examiners, permit technicians, etc., have found valuable guidance and assistance from our Alumni and BITAA members.

PROVIDE NETWORKING RESOURCES FOR ALUMNI AND MEMBERS
BITAA encourages active membership in our growing association in order to enhance networking amongst students,  alumni, and our BIT profession as a whole.

The Building Inspection Alumni Association is an independent organization funded by our membership. We are not supported financially by Portland Community College or any other institution or organization.
